Tour of Folger Estate Stables

Thank you for joining us for a tour of Folger Estate Stables. Our group was given a tour by Kym Teppo, Executive Director of Friends of Huddart and Wunderlich Park. She told us about the history of the land and showed us around several buildings on the estate.

This building was previously used as a Model T Garage.

The Chinese were employed to build stone walls on the estate. These walls, seen lining the paths just behind the chain fence, were built without the use of mortar. The stone walls are held together by the interlocking of carefully cut and placed stones.

The stables have been remodeled to give more space to each horse. The stalls used to be half this size.

Skylights shed light into the stables.

Folger Estate Carriage Room. This room is kept cozy and warm by underfloor heating (previously by radiators). It is filled with exhibited artifacts and placards that showcase the rich history of the estate.

History Talk by John Ralston

Thank you for joining us at the Cupertino Chamber of Commerce for a talk by historian John C. Ralston about Fremont and Cora Older and the Preparedness Day Parade bombing of 1916. Annual Fun-draiser and Sip of History Dinner

Thank you for joining us for our annual fun-draiser, a Sip of History dinner celebrating our local history and community! Funds raised for the Cupertino Historical Society and Museum support our mission to preserve and share Cupertino’s past, strengthen our sense of community, and make Cupertino history available for all.
