The Blue Pheasant Bar and Grill of Monta Vista

The area where the Blue Pheasant is located was once called Blackberry Farm - a 160 acre homestead encompassing what is now the park, golf course and restaurant. The original owner in 1848 was Captain Elisha Stephens, a trapper and guide who led the Stephens-Townsend-Murphy party - the first wagon train to cross the Sierra Nevada Mountains into Alta California. A monument to him is now located at the entrance to the golf course

The Blue Pheasant is a restaurant/bar serving classic American Cuisine since 1974 at 22100 Stevens Creek Blvd. It is one of the most popular destinations in Monta Vista adjacent to the Blackberry Farm Golf Course. Players often meet at the “19th hole” bar to relax after the game.

Located behind the restaurant is a historic tank house that belonged to orchardist Nathan Hall - one of the founders of Monta Vista. It was built in 1882 and survived the 1906 earthquake. These structures once dotted the agricultural valley landscape.

The building was moved in the 1980s to this location and restored in the early 2000s. Along with Paul and Eddie's, it is the oldest structure in Cupertino and it is currently owned by the city of Cupertino.
